May Faire event: Journey School in Aliso Viejo, CA

This is our first year that we’ve experienced the May Faire event at Journey School in Aliso Viejo, CA. Parents told us it was ‘magical’, the ‘event not to miss’, and honestly it was truly amazing! Fresh flowers adorned everything: the peripheral fence, the heads of students, teachers and parents, and the classroom doors. Each grade had their own May Pole dance, which they had practiced over the year. Music was played live by students, parents and supporters of Journey School.

The image below shows Beatrice the hen, a chicken from Ms. Smith’s 3rd grade class, taking her sweet time in choosing which student she would eat out of her hand, thus choosing the May Faire Queen. This was one of the most hilarious aspects of the event.

And the boys watch who will be chosen as ‘May Faire Queen’, knowing that they will also soon form a circle around the pole and allow ‘Beatrice’ to choose the King of the May Faire.

Teachers and students enjoyed the traditional dances around the May Faire pole.

It was a beautiful event to welcome in the Spring of 2012. Much love and peace to you and your family!
